Beakn

Voice control

Beakn inside the Apple Home app

Every switch appears in Apple Home, arranged into your real rooms, ready for Control Centre, HomePod, Apple TV, a wall-mounted iPad and Apple's own scenes and automations.

Once the bridge is set up, your switches sit in Apple Home alongside everything else you own, and appear in Control Centre on your iPhone lock screen.

A HomePod, HomePod mini or Apple TV acts as the home hub, which is what lets Apple Home automations keep running while you are out.

Family members can be invited to the Home and get full control from their own iPhones. An old iPad on the wall becomes an always-on dashboard.

Room Organisation in Apple Home (Matches Your Real Home)

Apple Home Scenes (Multi-Device Scenes in the Home App)
Apple Home has its own scenes. You can make a scene that includes Beakn switches together with other HomeKit devices, all from different brands.
Apple Home Automations (Time, Location, and Sensor Triggers)
Apple Home can run automations on its own — triggered by time of day, sunrise/sunset, people arriving or leaving, or a device's state changing. Best of all, these run
Control Centre Quick Access (Toggle From the Lock Screen)
Once your switches are in Apple Home, they appear in your iPhone's
HomePod / HomePod Mini as Home Hub (Automations Run When You're Away)

Multi-User Home Sharing via Apple Home (Family Access)

iPad as a Home Hub and Wall Controller (Wall Dashboard)
You can mount an old iPad on the wall, set it to the Apple Home app, and use it as an always-on home dashboard. It can also act as a Home Hub.

Calendar Event Trigger (Your Schedule Prepares Your Home)
Your iPhone calendar can prepare your home before an event. A short while before a meeting or dinner, the right scene runs.
Shortcut Chains (One Trigger, Several Steps With Pauses)
A single Siri Shortcut can run several Beakn actions one after another, with waits in between. A normal scene does everything at once; a chain adds timing.
Vocal Shortcuts (iOS 18+)
On iOS 18 and later, you can set custom phrases that work
HomePod Voice Control Without a Phone (Hands-Free Whole-Home)
A HomePod or HomePod mini lets anyone control the whole home by voice, with no phone, app, or watch.
Siri Suggestions (iOS Learns Your Patterns)
After a few weeks of using your shortcuts, iOS learns your habits and starts suggesting the right Beakn action at the right time — on your lock screen, in Spotlight, and as widgets.
Shortcuts Widget on the Home Screen (Visual Quick Access)
The Shortcuts widget puts your most-used Beakn scenes as tappable icons on your iPhone home screen. One tap runs any of them.
Mac Control (Manage Your Home From Your Laptop)
The Apple Home app on a Mac lets you control every Beakn switch from your MacBook or iMac — useful if you work long hours at a computer.
Apple TV as Home Hub (Control From Your Television)
An Apple TV can act as your Home Hub (like a HomePod), and its remote has a Siri button for voice control. It also shows Home controls on the TV.
Sound Recognition Trigger (Automate by Ambient Sounds)
Your iPhone can recognise certain sounds — doorbell, smoke alarm, dog barking, baby crying, water running — and run a Beakn scene when it hears one.
Transaction Trigger (Automate When You Make a Payment)
A Beakn scene can run when you make a payment on your iPhone (for example, with Apple Pay). It is the most niche trigger, but it shows how deep iOS automation can go.
The Complete Apple Setup (Everything Working Together)
This shows how a fully set-up Beakn + Apple home runs through your whole day — your phone, watch, car, laptop, TV, and speaker all working with your switches, with no manual effort.

Every one of these is explained step by step in the Apple Home & HomeKit manual page.
